The Positronic Man, written by Isaac Asimov and Robert Silverberg in 1992, is a book based on Isaac Asimov's wonderful short story "Bicentennial Man" (later made into a terrible film starring Sam Neill and Robin Williams). The Positronic Man traces the life of Andrew Martin (or NDR 113 as he is first known) over the two hundred years of his life. From his humble beginnings as a much-loved household robot, Andrew becomes a sculptor, a writer and a scientist. However, there is one thing that eludes him: humanity. The Positronic Man is a compelling and emotive journey through the life of Andrew Martin, and is a worthy adaptation of the original short story.
