This song was written by Belle & Sebastian, and is the first track on their debut CD, Tigermilk. This song nicely summarizes their sound, with a beautiful, stumbling, major key melody (in the key of C# major) and delicate electric guitar arpeggios. The acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies make it undoubtedly Indie Pop (Twee Pop to be exact), and the organ and piano give it an innocent feel.
The lyrics also introduced the world to Belle & Sebastian's irreverent lyrics, which are quite brilliant, somewhat funny, yet warm at the same time.
