The first issue written by Bob Budiansky.
After destroying all the Autobots defending the Ark in Issue 4, Shockwave takes his place as the new Decepticon commander. While Megatron hatches revenge, Shockwave informs about his plans to conquer Earth by acquiring The Creation Matrix, supposedly possessed by Optimus Prime.
Ratchet and Buster Witwicky arrive at the taken-over Ark to discover the Autobots' fate.
