The War in the Air

Novel by H. G. Wells, first published (as a serial) in 1907, republished ten years later. It described a world-encompassing war begun by Germany with an attack on England the USA, principally using airships, and resulting in the collapse of civilisation. Very eerily predictive in many matters.
