Maybe the best Cafe on New Zealand's South Island ?

Ok, normally I am not somebody easily seduced into bohemian cafe culture. I like sitting with a nice, freshly brewed fair trade coffee in my cottage and stare down the beach or read a good paper, listening to my own music and eating my own food, but this place is certainly something special.

Located in Oamaru's victorian district in an old woolstore, it recently was taken over by two energetic women, who turned this rather unexciting place into one of the most inventive coffee shops on the south island. A mixture of cozy sofas and wooden furniture in large airy room with a high celing full of wooden beams, surrounded by contemporary New Zealand art, it features inventive cooking, quick and polite service with an intelligent edge and the best bloody coffee I had for a long time.

The homemade curries are a revelation, the baking is superb and "coppers condiments" together with fresh bread are heavenly.

So there.
