It was surgery that caused me to stumble upon Everything2. Trapped between a chair and a bed ("awake" and "drug-induced haze"), Everything2 became my salvation against premature mental decrepitude. A web search for Hunter S. Thompson on George W. Bush landed me here, and I suppose the rest is history. My early write-ups were laced with the powerful perscription painkiller I was on.

The wounds are not closing and I am becoming worried. Being trapped in the Frozen North once again, I am terribly lacking in medical supplies (bandges, med-tape, etc.) and am forced to use duct tape to keep whats left of my bandges on while I attempt some sort of sleep. Perhaps tomorrow I can find adequate supplies at the Market. Oh, and more painkillers.

I must be really tired to create a node about this.

Seriously, in a first aid course I took, duct tape is mentioned as one of the three things necessary for a minimal first aid kit. The other two are medical gauze and disposable rubber gloves, but I feel that there is a fourth item: a sharp knife to *cut* the god-damned duct tape.
