Classic Baseball trick play. Featured in about half of the baseball movies ever made. Almost never really used in pro baseball.
The first baseman (or second baseman, shortshop or third baseman where applicable) goes to the mound for a conference. The pitcher slips him the ball. The player goes back to his base and the pitcher pretends he still has the ball. When the baserunner takes his lead he is tagged out.
