What is the true face of war?

It is not the visage of Ares, for Ares is the face of battle --  bold, bellowing, bloody.

It is not the eyes of Athena. She is the face of strategy, and statecraft -- cunning, calculating, cold.

No. The face of war is a little child, skin and bone, standing among the ashes, alone. This is what is left after bombs have blasted, after  soldiers have slaughtered and scavenged.

Do not pretend to love war. This is what it all comes to in the end.
