Tikoy is a sticky sweet rice cake that is served only every chinese lunar new year.

As with most customary chinese food, Tikoy is round and is supposed to bring good luck. I have been eating a lot of it every chinese new year but it doesn't seem to work.

It is easily prepared and only need to be cut up in to inch wide strips, 1/4th inch thick, dipped in a bowl of beaten eggs, then friend til brown in butter.

If ever in chinatown around february, be sure to try this delectable treat.
