One of the three characters that Dorothy meets along the yellow brick road in Oz. The Tin Man was once a real man but over the course of his life his limbs got removed through various wood cutting accidents and were replaced with tin limbs. The Tin Man is found in a forest rusted to the point that he cannot move. Dorothy applies oil to his joints so he can move again and he proclaims that he has no heart and they set off to meet the Wizard of Oz to find one.
