A series containing the best of
trance music from around the world. Naming the series Trance Europe Express is a clear pun on the name of the record
Trans Europe Express from
Kraftwerk. The series began while the
trance term actually had some creative musical meaning behind it and the series was discontiuned when the 'trance' term was applied to second-rate DJs such as
DJ Tïesto. If you are in search of the true meaning of
trance techno music, get one of these records.
Each release was a two-disc set, and there were five releases over four years. The releases were a boon to unknown bands such as Emergency Broadcast Network, but also contained more established artists such as Underworld, Moby, Aphex Twin and The Grid. Artists such as Carl Cox had a chance to make a name in the industry through this series.
