Biography:

Born Cristopher Trotman Nixon, on April 11, 1974 in Durham, NC, Trot has grown to become an instrumental player for the Boston Red Sox. Trot made waves throughout his entire baseball career. In 1993, the same year he was drafted as the 7th overall pick by the Bosox, he was named state player of the year in baseball as well as football for high school students. Trot was also named Baseball America Magazine's High School Player of the Year for hitting .519 with 12 home runs and a state record 56 RBIs as a senior. He also pitched exceptionally well with a record of 12-0 and an ERA of 0.40! He also recieved a football scholarship to N.C. State as a quaterback. Trot would be drafted instead.

After being drafted, Trot was sent to a the nearby A legue team in Lynchburg, VA. For that 1994 season, and the one following it in 95 Trot would be nagged by a bone chip in his back, and the resulting surgery. After playing for a full season in Trenton, Trot was called up to the major leagues. He only played in 2 games for the Red Sox that year. Trot played for the Pawtucket Red Sox in his 1997 season and for most of the 1998 season until he was called up again. Trot began playing regularly in 1999 for the Red Sox, but it wasn't until he replaced Carl Everett at center field in 2001 that he really got going. That year, Trot placed second on the squad for hits, doubles, home runs, RBI and walks, behind the former Cleveland Indians slugger Manny Ramirez. In his rookie season, Trot hit three home runs against the Detroit Tigers in a single game, making him the 5th rookie in Red Sox history to do so. Not quite a bad-boy by any means, Trot was suspended for three games, starting on May 15, 2002, for an incident that occurred a week earlier where Trot lost grip on his bat and it went flying towards Tampa Bay Devil Rays pitcher Ryan Rupe. Trot is actually a caring person, generous enough to offer his time to help out Verizon and the Massachusetts Teacher Association's literacy campaign during the summer of 2000.
