Nestled in the Fitzroy Gardens, beside the Fairy Tree, Melbourne, is this model of an English Tudor village. It was presented to Melbourne by the citizens of Lambeth, England, as a thank you gift for the food parcels dispatched from Victoria to England during food shortages after World War II. It boast a replica of Anne Hathaway's and Shakespeare's cottages.

This display has well and truly seen better days, and has been victim to many vandal attacks, but the inherent 'beauty' of the gift is still there and is a reminder of a time when the world was a much larger place than it is today.
