Located in Central California, roughly halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, this county is about the size of Connecticut. Its Eastern half is in the Sierra Nevada, and is mostly public lands within the Sequoia National Park, National Forest, and the Mineral King, Golden Trout, and Domelands Wilderness areas. Its Western half, in the San Joaquin Valley, is the second most productive agricultural county in the United States. The county seat is Visalia.
