Turnwise is a direction popularized by Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series.

The main idea is that if you are standing on a disc, and face the direction of the rotation of the disc, then you are oriented turnwise. The opposite orientation is widdershins.

East and west are inappropriate terms since neither exist. Clockwise and counterclockwise may be appropriate terms. But if there are people living on the disc, and turnwise is the same as counterclockwise, they may take offence to having their rotation be referred to as deviant.

North and south do not exist either on a disc, because the only thing that can be considered a magnetic pole is the hub (the center). So, in their place we get hubwards, and rimwards.
