The common term used by University of Iowa and University of Illinois students when referring to their respective schools. Both teams are part of the Big 10 and 40 percent of Iowa's student body comes from the Chicago suburbs, which contributes to their rivalry, though it escalated into a full rivalry complete with phone taps during the war over former Illinois basketball player Deon Thomas.

Students at both schools use results of athletic competitions and academic prowess to justify their claim to being the 'real' U of I. Illinois and Iowa are both among the best at everything and continue to be closely ranked in nearly everything from law school (Iowa #20, Illinois #23) to basketball (Illinois #3, Iowa #7).
