Very little information can be found about this AGER-3 ship. The USS Palm Beach is known as a Camano Class Light Cargo Ship, and was laid down in 1944 for use of the U.S. Army at Kewaukee Shipbuilding and Engineering Corporation in Kewaukee, Wisconsin. The ship was then acquired by the Navy and was commissioned as a Light Cargo Ship and renamed as the USS Palm Beach.
Some time later, it was converted to a Banner Class Environmental Research Ship and was known as an AGER-3. It was then decommissioned. Again, at an unknown date, the USS Palm Beach was struck from the Naval Register, and as of now, its final disposition and fate remain unknown. The ship was decommissioned in 1969.
