Town in Tanzania at the Northern end of Lake Tanganyika, slowly merging with the neighbouring town of Kigoma.

Before the age of colonisation, Ujiji was a focal point of the trade in foodstuffs slaves in the region, as well as being a centre for the production of cotton tectiles.

It was at Ujiji that Henry Morton Stanley found Dr. Livingstone, in 1871.
