The Université de Montréal, often abbreviated to UdeM, is located in

Canada, has an enormous student population of 47000, and three thousand some-odd teaching staff, and thirteen faculties, sixty something departments, some 500 programs, and two affiliated schools, the
École Polytechnique and the
École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal.
It has the lagest health sciences sector of all of Canada's universities.
It has its roots in the Université Laval; in 1878, the Université Laval opened a university branch in Montréal, and in 1920, it was given its first charter from the Parliament of Québec. In 1967, it lost the religious tone.
They have the student radio station CISM, heard at 89.3 FM in Montréal.
