Rather than make a new metanode, I thought noders would be better served if this wu was in the existing University of Connecticut node. This is a work in progress, as I add nodes at a rate of a few a day. Some of the nodes, namely the ones on residence halls, and who they're named after, will take a little longer, but it should all be up here in a relatively short amount of time. Feel free to /msg me with additions, but please realize that this isn't meant to replace the general catalog. I suppose I could just type that verbatum, but that'd be beyond the intented scope of this wu. This node, at least for now, is meant to be a who's who, and what's where for the University of Connecticut. The names and abbreviations of the buildings, both administrative and educational, residence hall names and history, and a few other things. More will be added as I discover new things, or as I notice errors/omissions. So, without further ado:

Other Stuff:

  • Steam Tunnels: The only ones I've actually seen are those below North Campus (the Jungle), but I'm sure there must be others. I hope to have more info on the tunnels...maps, access areas, photos. There are also other tunnels, where fiber lines cross campus, as well as other networking stuff (OC3 trunks), but these are accessed regularly, and aren't nearly as interesting as the steam tunnels.

  • The Holcomb Ghost: There is supposedly a ghost in the attic of Holcomb (see Holcomb Hall), but I have yet to see her. Then again, I am notoriously impatient with the undead, so you never know...besides..it's an all girls dorm, so the RAs get suspicious if you kind of lurk around in dark corners, and as Holcomb is next to Whitney Hall, the new engineering dorm, RAs can be touchy as engineers have been know to play some pranks...
