Quiet buildings in
perfect rows
Seamless concrete towers
One after the other
Monuments to efficiency,
anonymous and mute,
block out the night sky.
A slate gray forest estranged from nature
Only the windows are random
Lights left on indiscriminately
Betraying a human influence
Such a small sign of disorganization,
akin to graffiti.
Perhaps the pattern of lights is not accidental.
