A digital television channel in the US and Europe from the makers of VH1.

With regular ol' VH1 showing more modern music, and Behind the Music reruns, Viacom decided to come up with something for the older generation. The target age is somewhere around 35, and the artists are the likes of Rolling Stones, The Who, Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye and Earth, Wind and Fire.

The UK version of the station has had a minor change in format of late - 'smooth' classics during the day, and rock at night. Since its launch, there haven't been any VJs - it's nonstop music, interrupted only by ads.

VH1 Classic can be found on Sky Digital channel 444, and on MTV Networks' The Suite digital package.
