The Video Compact Cassette (VCC) was a less common alias given to Philips' ill-fated V2000 (Video 2000) system.

In spite of deriving its name from the wildly popular 'Compact Cassette' (the official title of the now standard audio cassette), VCC/V2000 was a major failure in the marketplace, and had been discontinued by the mid-1980s.

A Wikipedia article suggests that VCC was the name given to an earlier Philips video cassette format (as used in the 1972 N1500). However, research leads me to believe that they are confusing it with the similarly-named 'VCR' format.
