A Ballroom Dance, one of the Standard dances. The Viennese Waltz is a kind of waltz (duh!), it is danced to a 3/4 time rhythm, but is much faster than the otherwise somewhat similar English Waltz. It is characterized by the fact that a dancing couple rotates 180 degrees with every measure, which gives an almost top-like impression.

The dance is often featured in historical films set in Austria, where it originated.
