A place on Mill St, London, SE1.

To find it, stand on Tower Bridge, swivel round until your back is to HMS Belfast and you should see the pyramids of Canary Wharf. Rotate a little to the right, and you will see a white tower. Thats it !

What was originally a large grain silo is now a 20 floor block of flats nestling next to St Saviours Dock and apparently sitting atop one of the lost rivers of London.

It was redeveloped by architects Michael Squire and Partnersin 1989 at a cost of £10m.

The entrance foyer has a bronze sculpture named 'oracle' created by Keith McCarter (whose curvy oval shape reminds me of works by Barbara Hepworth)

All this is lovingly watched over twenty four hours a day by a great group of concierges - John by day and Willy by night.

If you are in the area, drop by for a cup of tea !
