Vredesconcerten Passendale

Vredesconcerten Passendale is an annual project in memory of the World War I. The emphasis is very much upon remembering those killed, rather than glorifying the war in any way. Every year, a folk singer is invited to write an album's worth of songs for the project. The project appears to be based in Flemish-speaking Belgium.

Past releases include:

• We Died in Hell - They Called it Passchendaele (1993) by June Tabor, Shoshana Kalisch, Kristien Dehollander, Marwan Zoueini and the Lone Tree Orchestra.
• We're Here Because We're Here - Concert Party Passchendaele (1995) by Willem Vermandere & Groep, Coope, Boyes and Simpson and Norbert Detaeye.
• Passchendaele Suite, Music from the Peace Concerts, Passchendaele Suite and Passchendaele Terminus (1996) by Panta Rhei and Coope, Boyes and Simpson.
• Gentle Men (1997) by Robb Johnson with Roy Bailey, Vera Coomans and the Golden Serenaders.
