rural city 225km northeast of
Melbourne
in
Victoria,
Australia. It has a
population of
about 25000 people. Townships in the Wangaratta area
include
Glenrowan (where
Ned Kelly became (in)famous),
Milawa,
Oxley,
Eldorado,
King Valley, and
Springhurst.
There are many
wineries in the Wangaratta area, which
is why it is known as
Gateway to the High Country and
Wineries.
