Wendy Orlean (or Orleans) Williams was either born in Rochester or Webster, NY on May 28, 1949. Williams ran away from home as a teenager to New York where she performed as a topless dancer. She became the lead singer of the seminal punk rock group, The Plasmatics debuting on July 26, 1978 at New York's underground music club, CBGB. She died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Storrs, Connecticut on April 6, 1998.

In addition to her music career, Williams appeared in at least five films and two television episodes.
