Wheel weight

Automotive Term

A wheel weight is a small lead weight that is affixed to a wheel and tire assembly to help balance them. Standard wheel weights have a small lip that attaches to the edge of the wheel. Other types exist that are pasted onto the wheel. Finally there is a kind of wheel weight that is only used for motorcycles. These wrap around the individual spokes of the wheel. All wheel weights are labeled in fractions of an ounce or in grams.
