I felt like this earlier this morning when I put in a mix tape of songs I recorded off a collection of dance hits from 1991. Now, I know that 1991 was not that long ago, but I bopped along to the music, aware that a lot had happened to me in the last 9 years. It is not the premature sensation of being old but an understanding that you have passed through a block of time of which you are strongly aware. It is not time as passed down through family stories or local lore. As boring as it is some times, this history is special because it happened to you.
