Just for laughs during a recording session, Mike Simpson of the Dust Brothers (who co-produced Odelay) whipped out an old sex education record entitled 'Sex for Teens (Where It's At).' John King, the other Dust Brother, cued up an old Mantronix song with the line 'two turntables and a microphone.' Ten minutes later (all the time Beck needed to write the lyrics) Odelay's first single was recorded and an old school classic was born.
