Why bother with the camera? It will never capture the light that sneaks into alleys and secretly warms stones. I will not pass later and feel the heat remaining. It may keep the brilliant sky, but it won't hurt your eyes to look at it, silent and still, trapped on glossy paper.

This camera won't keep the tastes and smells. It won't hold the music of this foreign language. I could record the dailiness that flows around me, but it's nothing to listen to, it's just a memory.

Inadequate.

The futility of a snapshot overwhelms me. I want full sound, colour, lights. I want a replica that cannot exist. I want to stay.

But...
I can't, so I stand in the square and smile for the camera.

Cheese.
