What has always
puzzled me is why
Microsoft calls its
digital A/V
player program
Windows Media Player instead of
Microsoft Media Player.
After all, if Microsoft is getting screwed by the DOJ for monopolizing its markets, it's crazy for it to label a product as "Windows Media Player." It's almost as if it were screaming out "Tightly Integrated Media Player."
Why can't they call it Microsoft Media Player? There's a Mac version available, which makes for a very weird experience, running Windows Media Player on the Mac OS.
If Microsoft wants to be "Innovative," as Bill Gates touts it as being, then it should name (and, of course, develop) its products as if they represented the company they're coming from, not the conglomerated OS its squished into.
