Also known as WARN, Women of All Red Nations was founded in 1974 by a group of women to support the American Indian Movement. Both men and women were active in the AIM but men were targeted for punishment by the FBI almost exclusively. With this in mind, the women of WARN took advantage of their inconspicuousness and created a solid organization to promote the civil rights of American Indians.

Although many of the political stances focus on defending the rights of Native American women, WARN also takes part in activities designated by the National Organization for Women and has fought to defend certain cultural rites for imprisoned Indian men.
