Named for the Wright Brothers and Lt Frank Patterson, the first military test pilot killed in an air crash, Wright-Patterson AFB (or "Wright-Patt") is the combined territory encompassed by "Wright Field" and "Patterson Field". It is also home of the National Air Intelligence Center, Air Force Research Labs, Air Force Institute of Technology, the US Air Force Museum, and Air Force Materiel Command headquarters. It sits just outside of Dayton, Ohio, home of the Wright Brothers, Wilbur and Orville.
