I seriously respect this guy. He is the only composer I know that has created music that makes me want to break down and start sobbing.

The Chrono Cross soundtrack is one of the most beautiful soundtracks things I have ever heard in my entire life.

In particular, the tracks "Radical Dreamers", "Fragments of Dreams" and "Dreams of the Shore Border" are especially good.

In addition to the soundtracks mentioned above, he has also been involved in "Front Mission: Gun Hazard", "Tobal #1", "Mario Party" and "Mario Party 2".

Mitsuda was born 21 January 1972 in Tokuyama, Yamaguchi, and raised in Kumage-city, moving to Tokyo to study composing and arranging in a junior college of music.

In April 1992, he was hired by Square, where his first job was as a sound engineer. Games he worked on in this capacity include Hanjuku Hero: Aa, Sekaiyo Hanjukunare (1992), Final Fantasy V (1992), Secret of Mana (1993), and Romancing SaGa 2 (1993).

His first chance to compose music for Square came in 1995, when he was assigned to Chrono Trigger, followed by Radical Dreamers and a collaboration with Nobuo Uematsu on Gun Hazard (1996). Mitsuda's debut as a producer was on the first Square game for the Playstation, Tobal No. 1 (1996).

Xenogears (1998) was Mitsuda's final project as a Square employee.

Since then he has been involved in some capacity with the following projects:

... and whatever else I forgot in the four hours spent double-checking all this stuff. Do you know how long it took me to find out that "Kumage" is the preferred spelling of the town, not "Kumake" as spelled on Mitsuda's website? And I fret over E2 Japanese Conventions...
