Yoshiyuki Sadamoto

Yoshiyuki Sadamoto has done the character design for the previous Gainax success, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and now for the characters of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

He did the character designs for Wings Of Honneamise along with being one of the animation directors working with Hideaki Anno.

A good-looking guy who looks good in glasses, Sadamoto Yoshiyuki is a past master at making garage kits. On occasion, when a manga deadline nears, has been known to pass out suddenly, only to find upon awakening that he has somehow drawn jeeps in his sleep. One of the better-known character designers in the business, the style he used in Evangelion has become very influential since the success of same. This is good if you like his angular, sometimes harsh lines - it's an effective shounen kind of style.
