Red strings tied onto my fingers
are little absentminded reminders
that you help me to untie
as I come to remember
all of the little chores
that I have been putting off
by ignoring all of these
forget me knots.

But the day is already gone with the sun set
and I am already undressed and in bed
in no mood to work or do anything but sleep
or keep your company in its stead.

So I'll leave the chores for tomorrow
just like I did yesterday.
And maybe you'll come and remind me again
to do them tomorrow instead of today.
