Zildjian, my favorite kind of cymbal. Used extensively by concert players and soft music, these symbols do not have the 'crash cymbal' capability that one needs to play music such as rock. To make the most of your Zildjian's, make sure to use them carefully and make sure that you are careful with the cymbal heads, because if those are dented, even slightly, the echo produced upon contact will become something akin to squeaky chalk on a chalkboard.

Clean your cymbals , but DO NOT use any sort of shiner in a pathetic attempt to enhance their looks, this will only increase the amount of times you will have to go to that music store and purchase new (and quite expensive) Zildjian cymbals.

And please before you start smashing those cymbals on your brand new drum set - learn to paradiddle, at the very least.
