ズンズンブロック
Zun Zun Block was a neat little block breaking arcade game created by Taito back in 1979. It was your basic game of Breakout but with a little spinner thing in the middle that could shoot your ball off in random directions. I have been told that the name Zun Zun both means speedy and is supposed to evoke the sound of a bee.
This little title was probably an attempt to compete with Namco's Gee Bee and Bomb Bee which were very similar games. Taito was really big on copying other people's game ideas back in the 1970s, and would often give their clones similar names and even similar cabinet designs to the games they copied.
Zun Zun Block never really made it to America or Europe, but it was a very common game in Asia and Australia back in the early 1980s. You will probably never play it, but it is a neat little bit of history.
