Airsmithing is a trade exclusive to the paintball world. Gunsmithing is to firearms as airsmithing is to paintball. Airsmiths spend most of their time behind machine tools such as mills, lathes, and other various equipment. Airsmiths are responsible, in large part, for most of the anodizing or custom work done on paintball markers.

Some of the more popular airsmiths include Doc Holiday (http://www.docsmachine.com), Glenn Palmer (well known for his line of aftermarket products for the Autococker, as well as his many other custom guns -- http://www.palmer-pursuit.com), etc. Basically, if you want your gun to look cool, work better, or fix it, then send it to an airsmith.
