A masculine name from the Old English Ælfred, which literally means "elf-counsel," and hence, "wise counselor."

This writeup is made as part of the Halloween quest 2001. The following text is a translation of a song by the Norwegian band Postgirobygget ("The Post Giro Building" - don't ask...).

Alfred was like most kids,
fond of cake and birthday parties.
But when the others couldn't get any more down,
Alfred always ate on.

Puberty came along,
and friends started teasing and punching.
Everybody else walked home with someone else,
but Alfred went alone again.

They said: You are so fat it isn't possible,
you fat pig, you fat man.
You are so fat it isn't possible,
you fat pig, you fat man.

Alfred was so fat that he had to pay
per kilo on the bus around the block.
But he wanted to show how good it was to have a layer
as storage for food for a day.

He invited the whole class to Vinje.
According to the meteorologist, they would be snowed in.
And empty for food, everyone was bound to understand
how good it is to have something to wear on.

They said: You are so fat it isn't possible,
you fat pig, you fat man.
You are so fat it isn't possible,
you fat pig, you fat man.

At first, it went like Alfred though.
The first day they were stuck inside.
But as soon as the others became hungry enough;
they ate Alfred...
