The setting was a small planet in a pocket universe riddled with dimensional instability; the "Haven's Rest" of the group name referred to a pub on this planet.
Most active in the mid-1990s, the newsgroup's activity sadly fell off as many of its writers found other things they wished to do with their time. A similar fate befell alt.pub.dragons-inn.
