anonymous (or
ftp), with your
email address as the
password. Not truly
anonymous, because the account is typically
logged to track
abuse and illegal activity.
As a shortcut, if you are foo@goo.edu and you log in from goo.edu, you may simply enter foo@ and the domain or IP address will be implicitly assumed by the server. Many people don't even enter their real email address, but rather something made up.
