Army golf is a euphemism that can occasionally be heard on the links in reference to a golfer who is alternately hitting his shots from the rough on one side of the fairway to the rough on other side. I.e., "You're really playing army golf today, Bob."

The term derives from the army's use of cadences when marching. As anyone that has been in basic training can tell you, the simplest cadence is "Left, Right, Left, Right ..."
