Backstage is the home of the
techies (well, the
theatrical ones). Backstage can often be a
dangerous place for people who are not used to the
environment (i.e.
actors). Specific areas backstage include the
fly gallery, the
half fly and the
green room.
Backstage, the
Stage Manager is in charge. Normally, his (or hers) is the ultimate
responsibility for all
safety in the
theatre, so anyone backstage should listen to what he (or she) says.
