An eggshell which has had the egg blown out of it.

To make a blown egg, start with a raw egg. You'll want to wash it off first, then get a bowl and a straight pin. Cradle it in the palm of your hand with one end pointing up. Take the straight pin and push it gently into the top of the shell. Wiggle it, just a little bit, until you have a hole wide enough to push a grain of rice through.

Turn the egg over and, holding it even more carefully, make a similar hole in the other end. Now hold the thing over the bowl and gently blow.

When you have blown the egg out of its shell, rinse it off again. You may want to try to rinse the inside with the tap water.

Presto! You now have a blown egg suitable for painting and/or hanging on an egg tree.
