comparisons made in the
past.
Also a condition frequently used by parents when allowing children to begin experimenting with adulthood and all the excitement therein.
Example:
"Yes, you may stay out past midnight."
"So my curfew is past midnight now?"
"We'll set your curfew on a case by case basis."
