A charm holder is a loop of wire, usually made of gold or silver. It has two hooks on the side, that are used to open it. It is used for displaying multiple charms on one necklace. The top of the holder had a small loop, which is threaded onto a necklace.

Many jewelry departments in major department stores sell charm holders with "Grandma" or "Mom" scrolled at the top. Along with these types of holders, customers purchase "children" charms, which are shaped like stick children with their birthstones in their "torso". While these are cute for about one second, they are tacky for eternity.
