Like hydrophillic and lipophillic, this term refers to the energetic preference of molecules. Water can form clusters and clathrates - semi-stable structures that 'flicker' in and out of existance. This may not have much relevance to bulk water, but might for molecules in cavities (zeolites, proteins, membranes etc). This is because the cluster can be stabilised by the size restriction, or by liganding hydrogen bonds.

The context to use this word in seems to be : 'clusterophillic interactions' or '~ free energy'. For example, the co-operative nature of cluster formation means that there should be a sharp transition from a non cluster-promoting conformation of a cavity to a cluster-friendly one. This is relevent for active sites, which need to go through cycles of opening and closing of cavities.
